MikroTik router causing high ping spikes during online gaming — how to stabilize connection?

Hi everyone, I’m using a MikroTik router at home (mainly for managing multiple devices and bandwidth control), but I’ve been facing an issue while gaming online. Games like Valorant and Warzone run fine at first, but then I start getting random ping spikes and slight packet loss during matches.

I’ve already checked my internet line and it seems stable, so I suspect it might be related to router configuration (maybe queue rules, QoS, or firewall settings). Has anyone here optimized a MikroTik setup specifically for gaming traffic? Any guidance on reducing latency and keeping the connection stable would be really helpful.

What have you done so far?
Are you familiar with the term bufferbloat?
There are a couple of topics, perhaps you can read i.e.: Fq_codel/ cake with fasttrack - update

Best forum can do is to have a 2nd look to your config, for optimization purposes.

But since there is no config, what are you trying to achieve and what is your thought logic? What do you think it will happen next?

Maybe yes, maybe no. Without config, we cant see…

How can you prove it's not a problem with the game server, the internet provider, or the console/computer you're using?

Have you tried unplugging EVERYTHING and leaving ONLY the console/computer connected directly via cable?

You use Wi-Fi for gaming?

Perhaps you get help, only to discover later that the wasted hours were for nothing because the problem lies elsewhere.
