MikroTik smartphone app (ex Tik-App)

We have started working on an Android utility that gives you ability to configure your router more conveniently, while on the go.

Let us know how it works for you, and what you think about it.

EDIT: new way to download. Just one link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mikrotik.android.tikapp

I installed the app. It starts. Typed the ip of my home router, also user and pass and when I click Connect it says ‘Unknown Host’ (after showing ‘Connecting’ for 1-2sec)

Installed, a really great and useful application, it will comes to iOS too???

Waiting on my request to be approved…can’t wait to test this. Kudos for getting this off the ground

Thanks for the app!

1st bug report as a result of brief overview:

  1. Double IP Scan found in Tools menu, see attached screenshot.
  2. Application is quite unstable. Freezes and closes unexpectedly even on main screen.

Tested on Samsung Galaxy Note (GT-N8000)

I tried again from home and it connects. It uses winbox protocol, port 8291. This port is accepted from wan side of the router.
What I noticed so far :

  1. My phone disconnected from the wireless network for a second. At that point the app crashed.
  2. I tried to start a script. I don’t see any way to do that. I can click on the script and edit the name. I can click a ‘Settings’ button and I can delete it or set a comment. But don’t see a way to run it.

Update on the connection problem : I added a log rule to see why is not connecting from wan. It starts with a connection to tcp port 7 (echo) and if this port is closed the ‘Unknown Host’ message appears. So in a firewall where I accept port 8291 from wan and drop everything else it doesn’t work. I have to add a rule to accept port 7 in order to connect.

till that one, please put new functionality to dude

Yeah. continue wasting resources on these things instead of putting them in good use for The Dude.

Time not correct in the log/log
Phone time is 19:56
Log time is 21:56

Just request the alpha testing. ..

There will be an iOS version ???

@normis thank u for publish this app

I installed the app. It starts. Typed the public ip of my work router, also user and pass and when I click Connect it says ‘Unknown Host’ (after showing ‘Connecting’ for 1-2sec)

Any idea?

Is there any other way how to participate on testing without forcing me to agree Google privacy rules? I am not willing to agree with them. Why are you involving third company into relationship between mikrotik and your customers? Please, for example, provide the possibility to download the application from the user account pages on your website. Thank you very much.

This is great, thanks for working on this.

Definite feature request - Port Knocking before connection, possibly even multi-port-knock (I tend to go 2 or 3 different ports in specific order before opening IP for management) so when I’m out and about (mobile network with no fixed IP) I can log in securely without having VPN connected or management open to outside world.

Thanks

Look above for my post. I have described the same problem and a solution.

Could you please put the .apk for direct download at you site or also distribute via Amazon for devices without Google Play? Thanks.

No Google Play? You must be missing out on a lot of great apps then. http://www.mikrotik.com/download/share/tikapp_0_0_7.apk

Thanks a lot. Does it use Google services? If it still does, it’s useless for me to try on my BlackBerry or Jolla (and it would also not work on a Kindle).

Thanks for download link.

Trying from phone opearator network with result: “unknown host” when using domain name to connect.
Will check what it does in local network…

Like it was said above, unknown host is because ping is blocked, not because domain name.
