Mikrotik wireless vs turnkey solutions.

We design sell and install IP camera solutions and we are getting into wireless for some of our jobs. Nothing big just some short PT, PTMP, MESH solutions. There are some companies that specialize in wireless for video/voice so they say. So my question is why would I use http://www.firetide.com or http://www.fluidmesh.com over Routerboard? Assuming that you know how to program Routerboards. Besides coming programed and having full company support why should I use them over Routerboard?

Love the forum and big fan of Mikrotik products!

you do know that this is a mikrotik forum, right? you don’t ask “why should I buy samsung phones” when you are in the apple store

I do and that is why I am asking here  You have Firetide, Tranzeo and Fluidmesh etc… with PTP links for 10 times the price of a Miktrotik setup and I am trying to understand why. This is not a dig on anyones products I am just trying to learn more.

Anyone?

Ok let me rephrase my question. Is there anything Firetide, Tranzeo and Fluidmesh etc… can do that you can’t do with Mikrotik?

fewi… I think you are referring to this “This is not an open general discussion forum. This forum is specific to supporting MikroTik users and MikroTik products. We do not tolerate discussions involving non-mikrotik products, biased criticism, rude language, insults of moderators and other things commonly understood as inappropriate.”

I am sorry if I broke a rule. I have no intention to bash anyones equipment. I just honestly would like to learn as much as I can about Mikrotik. If this is not the appropriate place to ask this question could you point me to the right place to ask it? PMs or emails would work as well. Thank you very much

  • I am just another user - just pointing out the likely reason you are not getting replies, particularly when considering the next point
  • normis works for MT, and he told you the same thing on Wednesday
  • the forums of those vendors would probably be an appropriate forum
  • PMs are turned off globally in this forum
  • I don’t use MT for wireless so I have no opinion on it
