MPLS + LDP Logging

Hi

I’m not sure why this topic has not been logged before, or if it has been previously addresses by Mikrotik but the Logging for MPLS and LDP Protocols do not work.

If you log to disk, memory or echo nothing is displayed when working with these protocols.

I recently attended the MTCINE training and during this discovered this.

Currently there are no LDP MPLS logs.

Good Day, is there a specific reason for this? I dont see why it shoudl be in the logging facility if it does not work or is not implimented.

As you can imagine it creates alot of difficulty when troubleshooting problems

+1

It would alao be nice to see a log entry when vpls tunnels change state.

Hi

Could someone from Mikrotik please answer my question from a month ago?

Why is there logging facility for MPLS and LDP if it does not even work?

Because logging for MPLS is not implemented.

And what about now?
3 years later and still not a single damn log?

This has been promised for RouterOS v7

We sorely need it too. Often when configuring new routers and something weird is happening it would be useful.

Pretty much anything is promised for v7. Kind of stupid, seeing that no one knows when it eventually will be released

I discovered this recently when i try’d to troubleshoot problem with vpls, and seen that there is no logging for vpls as well and mpls is not working at all.

This is a big problem. This logs is very very important.
Many times this information make a huge difference.

Please, is so hard to implement this on v6? I can’t imagine what is the problem to do this…

I’ve had to resort to packet captures to troubleshoot issues, it works but I would really prefer LDP logging.

And what about now? Still nothing?

Not to bring a dead thread back, but was this ever added? I am having to debug shortly, so if its broken still I probably will need to change to packet captures.

Thanks

Still nothing on this from Mikrotik. Should be very quick to add logs. Are they just lazy?

Hello?

Don’t think they doing anything anymore for v6. Dissapointing, as v7 is faaar from production ready.
