Is it possible to use the MTP to 10 Duplex LC Breakout cables available to use one of these breakout cables available and get 10 separate LC 10gb connections?
Plenum Fiber Optic Cable, 100 Gigabit Ethernet CFP/CXP 100GBase-SR10 to MTP(MPO)/LC (10 Duplex LC) 24 inch Breakout Cable, OM3, 50/125, 3 meter - Part #: MPLC-32003
MTP® (MPO) to LC 20 Fibre OM4 (50/125) Breakout | SR10 100G
Typical Applications:
100GBASE-SR10 break out into 10x single 10G SFP+ SR and 10x single 10G XFP SR transceivers.
If not it is better to use a 100G QSFP28 Breakout DAC-100GBase QSFP28 to 4 x 25G SFP28 Passive Direct Attach Copper Breakout Cable which should be supported. Then using SFP+ 10gb transceivers? The reason I ask is that in the future when i have something that is 25g to connect i don’t have to change out the breakout cable from the 40 x 10gb version. I can just plug in a 25gb port and it will negotiate the higher speeds.
Also, is it better to use an active or passive breakout cable? And does copper vs fiber make any difference if it is in a nearby cabinet. I am not looking for long distances just reliable connectivity.
Thanks
