Multiwan configuration and Queues.

Hello,

I would like to enquirer what the best configuration for queues in a multiwan configuration is?

Current port configuration:

WAN
ether1 - ISP 1
ether2 - ISP 2
ether3 - ISP 3

LAN
ether7 - LAN

Currently I am using queue tree with the following setup;

DOWNLOAD bandwidth limiting

LAN-Main
L-HTTP
L-Download
L-VoIP

UPLOAD bandwidth limiting

ISP1-Main
L-HTTP
L-Download
L-VoIP

ISP2-Main
L-HTTP
L-Download
L-VoIP

ISP3-Main
L-HTTP
L-Download
L-VoIP

The issue with the above configuration is that on LAN-Main ( incoming traffic / download ) I cannot say - for ISP1 limit incoming http to 10M. I can only say limit all http traffic from all three ISP’s.

Is there a better way I can setup the queue tree? Or is there a way to setup queue simple to achieve my desired configuration?

Is it as simple as the queue is displaying the ‘Download Average Rate’ and the Interfaces is showing the actual rate?

I think you should put queues (separate ones, tuned for the actual speeds) on the ISP links, and not on the LAN.

So create simple queues for each ISP and then create a child queue for each protocol based on the packet marks?

How would you mark the packets of the incoming web traffic specific to an ISP?

I am not sure what the limitations of a simple queue are, but I use a queue tree for shaping traffic
to multiple directions. I use packet marking based on DSCP in my case, but in your case you
might use protocols and port numbers.
