Nat suggestion

Hi All,

we have limited puplic ipv4 and ripe dont give more and now we should give local ip to customer like 172.x.x.x. how should i nat them ?
one puplic ip should nat 4 local ip ? or I should nat 8 local ip with one puplic ip ? which is best ? or what can we do more ?

Thnks.

Deploy IPv6

Or If you are like me and the upstream providers haven’t implemented ipv6 yet.

Then Nat the public IP and also Nat on the clients side wan side.

Works pretty well.

What? They plan to terminate their business?

I’m in South Africa.

Here you can buy a brand new ford fiesta for one month of 500/500 Uncapped fiber line.

FTTH is only starting to be rolled out in the rich neighborhoods.

100 down and 25 up for about 100 usd p/m and its not even uncapped.

So Ipv6 isn’t coming any time soon.

Deploying IPv6 is even more important in less developed countries, as the growing providers there don’t have
an inventory of existing IPv4 addresses to hand out to new customers.
Not investing in IPv6 now is going to mean heading for problems, losing customers, and going bankrupt.

We are not ready for ipv6, and alson provider not using ipv6 so we nat the customers with our puplic ip. And i would like to learn how many local ip can natted with puplic ip ? 1 puplic to 4 local ip ? Or 1 puplic for 8 puplic ip ? Which is best ?

The limits on what you can NAT as an ISP are not determined by the (MikroTik) technology, but by your
local laws w.r.t. traceability of traffic and the behaviour of your customers. When they download protected
material you may be served a judicial notice to give the details of the customer, and with NAT you will
probably not be able to comply.

Ok, Thanks.
