need ur opinion on my status,i am very new to mikrotik

hi
i am using rb433 and xr5 to connect two parabolic (29 dbi), the distance between them is 8 km.

i need to know is every thing ok coz i used to get sginal strength -54 and now it’s up to -69

i uploaded my stauts

plz help, and if there is somthing wrong can u explain it in simple words coz am very new to this.

onther quistion

am gonna have about 35 user going online on the same time and every user will have about 256 Kb bandwidth, is there will be a problem ?

Can you reduce frequency down as see if signal improves as the tech data for XR5 says operating range is 5.20-5.825GHz?

is it that bad??
and how do i reduce it??

weird!!!
i thought u guys will be more helpful

thanks anyway

You got a reply within three hours of posting. It’s only been five hours since the last update. That’s pretty good for a community forum.

Use 5.8GHz range. It is in the basic wireless tab under “FREQUENCY” setting.

u guys didnt tell me

IS THERE SOMTHING WRONG???

Yes… Your CCQ sucks.

weird!!!

Can you believe this guy, He gets FREE ADVICE and he complains, I bet if he was paying “professional fees” he wouldn’t complain but be thankful?, comments like his are totally counter-productive, it would be much easier to just read the posts and make notes do they apply to your config/network, not reply but let someone else reply, which leads me to my next comment a system should be in place where all of 19575 users should have a minimum activity over a 1 year period, all to often we see forums been used to address a issue(s) when done leave without even thanking or updating if the advice posted worked or not?

karma’s a b*tch.

Does he know what CCQ is?

8-10 mbps throughput would be necessary for 35 simultaneous users of 256kbps. which should not be a problem with 29dbi parabolics and xr5.

check your antenna height and inclination.

thank u 4 ur help and thanks 4 making fun of me,i dont know what is ccq (i said am new to this).i google it and now i know

Ok - Can i ask some more questions so we can help,
(1) Are you sure you only have 256Kb for 35 users, If so low CCQ and signal will be the least of your troubles as you will have a lot of unhappy clients? (I am not making fun of you but pointing out a reality )
(2) Your signal has gone from -54 to -69, this is really a process of elimination to track down the cause,
(3) I will ask as you were not familiar with CCQ are you sure the AP frequency was not changed,
(4) Have you checked the alignment of both dish’s, (to test manually press on dish and monitor signal levels)
(5) If this is not the cause, then try radio-card(s) lead from router to antenna,

  1. HW Retries (advanced tab) set to 15 on both sides
  2. Turn on Adaptive noise immunity (client and AP setting)
  3. Stop using the 5.9Ghz frequency and still with the 5700 to 5840 range.

hi again
1)no u miss understood me , i meant 256Kb for each user ,so i asked is there will be a problem transmitting all that bandwidth,is there?
2) no it ddin.t changed
3)i think thats my problem but i cant be in touch with the other piece coz its on a 40 M tower (my ISP uses towers to transmit internet wirelessly),does it work if i test my signal with my piece even if the other is the 1 that moved ?

by the way
my ccq is not stable,it goes from 55 to 85 and go back to fifties in matter of seconds

there might be some changes in LOS from ur site. or some new tower coming up nearby. Transmitting that much bandwidth should not be an issue . try using freq. 5700-5800. Should help
