Netflix and proxy

Hi All,

For some reason, we have noticed a pattern with several clients unable to access Netflix because Netflix is flagging their connection as a “vpn or proxy”. All the Mikrotik’s are clean, up to date and have not been compromised. They are not running proxies or VPN. I’ve narrowed it down to being related to the Mikrotik because when we remove it from the network, Netflix is accessible again.

Has anyone else experienced this recently? It’s started in the last couple months.

Hello.

It seems your Mikrotik is infected. Look at your config..

Check IP>SOCKS
IP> WEB Proxy

You might want to look at your filter rules and NAT rules. There’s a rule there catching all that data..

@3firs, Did you get it figured out??? I have been having the same trouble here too, some customers say they get that error as well. Obviously Netflix sends them to the ISP (me), but i have just verified that I have no webproxy running and SOCKS is disabled on my router. @trace323 any other suggestions would be appreciated!!!

Hi,

I believe your Mikrotik is infected. Please export the config, but of course hide all sensitive information.
