I inherited an RB 600A and the password is lost. I am using netinstall to upgrade it and take the password to default/blank.
I have followed the instructions with the serial console and PC running netinstall.
The console shows the bootp starting and it displays:
software installed
press enter to reboot (which I do)
rebooting
restarting system
then it reboots
transfer started…transfer ok
setting up elf image ok
jumping to kernel code
welcome to mikrotik router software remote installation
(mac addresses display)
software-id: BM32-8QW4: (long key here)
waiting for installation server…
This happens repeatedly with 4.17 and 5.8.
I am happy to try it with 4.13, which is what it may have been running. I cannot tell since I did not have the password.
I just need to get this router where I can login to the admin interface.
