Newbe HowTo VLAN + Mesh

Hi,

I want to change two of my accesspoints to Microtiks… and I’m lost in the amount possibilities to configure! Please help …

I have: two APs a cAP AC, a hAP ac lite
PLUS a firewall (ipfire) and a VLAN ready switch.

What I need:

  • 3x WIFI on both devices (internal = green, guests = blue, nointernet = orange) - which I separated by VLAN-IDs on the firewall (green: NONE, blue: 10, orange: 20)
  • the WIFI should be setup as mesh (because of roaming)
  • 1 phyiscal port on the hAP ac lite configured to guests (the others to internal)
  • ability to add two more cAP AC (with the same setup)

What I had: The environment above was working already (except of the mesh) with two other APs (based on OpenWRT) - but as said I want to exchange them.
Means: setup of firewall + the switch is working fine.
Setup is: DHCP is running on the firewall (for green and blue, only static addresses in orange), access restrictions (blue may not reach green and orange, orange may not reach blue, green and internet) are done on the firewall.

The two APs are connected by ethernet (cable).

How should I setup the two?

Okay, that’s a big block of text there. Please make a diagram of your network. You don’t need to mesh to handle roaming. Also restate a little bit what you’re needing like this: I want to move to MikroTik for all my wireless AP units. How do I configure them when I don’t have a MikroTik branded router?
