Hi all, I am quite new to the Mikrotik hardware and solutions and I would highly appreciate some assistance in putting a 4G/LTE home solution together. I have been looking at all the options and thus I am now more confused… At a later stage I will use a pfSense box to do fail-over between this 4G/LTE solution and ADSL line.
For now I must be able to do the following-
Critical Information:
• The 4G/LTE is for Namibia, Baseband 20 - the dongle modem is not an option
• Need to be able to establish and OpenVPN tunnel
• Attached external high gain antennas
• Attach an indoor AP (if required)
The solution (idea) is a D-Link 4G LTE Router (DWR-921) with a XPOL-2 MIMI two port and a UniFi AC Pro AP. I need something that I can replace the DWR-921 with that has more functionality with VPN support. It will be a bonus if I can at a later stage dial this “replacement” unit with pfSense.
All ideas on hardware options will be highly appreciated - had a look at the BaseBox 5 & hAP ac and stuff and are totally unsure which way to go.
