GPERx6 interesting too. 2.5Gbps or 10Gbps Ethernet options would have been nice. A small splice tray would have been welcome too to just splice an outdoor cable to a pigtail kind of thing - only would have been max 6 splices. Why can't mikrotik ever get these things right.
Would have loved it when the CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-RM actually was a CRS418-8P-8G-2S+5axQ2axQ-PC. With a smaller enclosure and external power supply just like e.g. CCR2004-16G-2S+PC.
But maybe it will come later...

The rackmount CRS with Wi-Fi, hmm you said it yourself in the PDF. Wi-Fi and rack/rackmount don't go together. I guess the hardware must have been an integrated solution. Could be cool as a desktop solution but quite spendy.
Really hoping for a MACsec version of the CRS812, the Marvell brochure for the switch chip touts the feature so a MACsec version of the chip seems to be available.
I really like redundant internal power supplies especially for PoE switches and you could always remove rack ears and put it on the table, but if we are going to have something similar in a smaller package and with external PSU maybe CRS418-16G-2S+5axQ2axQ-PC without PoE or maybe even CRS418-8G+-2S+5axQ2axQ-PC with 8 x 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports would be more appealing...
I think the features of the device are OK (of course we would have liked 2.5Gbps ports instead of 1Gbps...) but for a WiFi device you typically do not need rack mounting, and as it is it takes considerable table space.
The -PC models in the MikroTik range are typically in a smaller case and do not include the powersupply.
Of course looking at photos it may be an issue that a large heatsink on the back cannot be combined with WiFi antennas...
It could have 4 RPSMA connectors close together and be supplied with 4 magnetic antennas with 30cm/1ft coax lead that could be placed on the top of the box.
But maybe that is not allowed in some countries... antennas have to be fixed to the unit and not pluggable.
There are many different interfaces for >100G speeds - QSFP56 (200G), and QSFP112/QSFP56-DD/OSFP (400G).
Broadly speaking, the first three are backward compatible without use of adapters unlike OSFP. (though QSFP56-DD is not backward compatible if the transceiver has more lanes than the port)
Is the industry converging on QSFP* form factor, or is it still undecided between QSFP* and OSFP for ≥400G?
Of course not! That would not have enough space even for all those RJ45 connectors.
But I would hope it could be in the same chassis as a CCR2004-16G-2S+PC.
