Non switched port - end device Inet access

I just bought the CCR1009 8g-1s-1s+ router and have everything working except the non switched ports 5-8.

I configured ether1 for outside (pppoe isp connection) and ether 2,3,4 for internal LAN. I would like to use ports 5, 6, 7 ,8 for additional end devices and connect them to internet? How do I do this? I tried setting up DHCP on the non switched ports and use the dhcp pool created for ether2 and it did not work, I am thinking i need to configure a bridge or configure a route.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

ps. I know I can add an additional switch to ports 1-4 to extend my network, but I am not able to get a switch at this time and just need to config port 5, 6, 7 or 8 in the meantime.

Thanks,

J

Ports 3+4 are probably slaves of 2. And ports 5-8 are probably slaves of 5. You can check the config of each port to confirm, it’ll say master-port: ether2 or something like that.

Go to Bridge, create a bridge, include Ether2 and Ether 5. Don’t have to add other ports since they are slaves.

Then in IP > Addresses, remove the IP from Ether2 and add it to bridge1 as it’ll now be the LAN interface.

i tried the suggestions you gave an it bricked my router. I had to perform factory reset and restore from backup. any other suggestions?
