I have just plugged in my brand new CRS305-1G-4S+IN
I was blown away by the configuration screens, I am by a long way not a network expert and thought this was just a simple switch, how wrong I was!
My simple need for this switch is to do the following, can anyone please let me know if it is possible as I feel I am going to have to factory reset it anyway as not 100% sure what I am doing!
I have a Desktop & 2 unRAID servers all running 10gbe on 192.168.11.*
I have a standard LAN running on 192.168.0.*
Can I have the 4 sfp+ ports all running on 192.168.11.* and the LAN port running on 192.168.0.* and if so which of the unbelievable amounts of config screens would I do this
Lastly, I have the interface cards on all 3 devices using an MTU of 9000 should I set this in the switch or is it automatic?
Give the device for example the IP 192.168.0.1/20, then you just can attach your client devices to it and ready you are.
That setting you can make in the web interface under the tab “Quick Set”, similar if you use the WinBox windows tool instead.
The said /20 subnet mask covers the IP range from 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.15.254.
(if you instead take /17 then you can leave the default device IP 192.168.88.1 as is. Then the IP range goes upto 192.168.127.254)
