Nstreme Dual

I upgraded a link today, from nstreme to nstreme dual. But I am getting a terriable thruput on the link. before I was getting 25Mb or a little more. With duel running I get at the most 5Mb each way. We upgraded the OS to 3.17 and nothing changed. We setup everything according to the Mikrotik manual.

Please can someone help me find out where we are going wrong, as we need the link fully operational by Wednesday morning.

post your wireless configuration, including the nstreme dual configuration

Hi. Please see attachment for the Nstreme Dual configuration.

Both wireless cards on either end have been put in nstreme dual slave mode. Wireless cards running on same frequency as allocated on nstreme dual tab. Using same SSID for both wireless cards per station. Also tried different SSID’s - doesnt seem to make a difference. Also switch nstreme on and off on the wireless cards, but doesn’t effect the Nstreme dual setup. Connection still stays up after making all theses changes. Seems as though when you put wireless cards in nstreme dual slave mode, none of the changes you make on the physical card itself, registers. Only changes made on the Nsteme dual tab in Winbox affects the setup.

Link comes up (shows connected on nstreme dual tab). On the status tab, the RX and TX signal strength are between -55 and -65. (good link). The RX and TX Rate jumps between 54Mb and 48Mb. Seems like a good link. But as soon as a bandwith test is done or actually data flows over the link, the RX, TX rate drops to about 9Mb and the actual bandwith tests shows 5Mb up and 5Mb down (at best!)

Any advice would be appreciated.

PS - Both the frequencies used get about 25Mb when running in bridge - station mode with nstreme on. But together, i just can’t get it working.

Thanks
nstreme2.TIF (37.6 KB)
nstreme1.TIF (41.7 KB)

please type command in the RouterOS terminal:

/interface wireless export

and post the output here

Link currently in use in bridge/station mode. Will change back to nstreme dual slave tonight and capture the export and post tonight. Thanks.

Hi Guys

Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Please help here. I am stumped, and reallt keen to get the link running spot on ASAP.

Have you tried greater spacing between tx and rx channels? I have read with good dual polarity antenna you neef atleast 100mhz separation

Im running 5320 and 5745 for rx and tx. Gap is bigger than 100. Thanks for suggestion.

you have problem about interfernce.

lower the TX power for each transmitting card to 6,
you will see the thing goes better!

Then put more power at steps of one db and find the optimal value.

regards
Ros

Lowered the tx power of the main site transmitting card to 6 first. Nstreme Dual connectivity died. Tried going up in 1’s - link only came alive again when i reached 15 power on the main site. Left it at 15 and connected to remote site. When i set the transmitting cards tx power to 15 there, i lost my link. Will have to go out and set back to default to get registration up.

Should the link work with both tx cards set to 6?

Thanks

yes because your signal was very high!

Tried both sides TX cards at 6 fixed rates and card rates, but link doesnt come up. I played around with higher values, but also no luck. Back to defaults and link up again. This one got me stumped. :frowning:

I’m seeing a VERY similar problem, using XR5’s and 433AH’s on a 20 mile link with dipole antennas (using about 400MHz seperation between channels). Wondering if anyone has any recommendations or suggestions, because I’m pulling my hair out here. I even set up a test lab in our office, same equipment and setup, using the same equipment, about 15 feet from each other, and acheived similar results. The folks at Ubiquiti didn’t have much to say in the way of help, other than directing me here. I’d appreciate any light that could be shed on this.

TIA,

-Aaron
