Does anyone know if Hikvision ip cameras are mode a or mode b? I have a situation where I need to run 2 ip cameras on 1 cat6, and the only way it will work is if they use mode a for poe.
Mode A should work on any 802.3af endspan (switch). I imagine this is because they want you to split the cable into 2 sets of 2 pair 100 mbit cables and you’ll wire it accordingly?
As far as MikroTik is concerned I think (please correct / update me if I’m wrong) that most devices are passive PoE. You likely want 802.3af compliant switches. For that look at:

An alternative is to use a MikroTik router with a cheap TP-Link or Netgear 802.3af PoE switch downstream of it.
Likely ignore me. I see now you are asking if the Hikvision cameras support mode A.
Those two CRSs support PoE input, not output.
I’m afraid I can’t answer the original question, sorry.
Good catch, ya re-reading it now I see. Glad I saw that. MikroTik / Ubnt both seem to have really weird PoE offerings. That said a simple NetGear or something w/803.3af/at support isn’t expensive and you can do the fancy work on the MikroTik switch.
