From time to time I’m thinking about buying one, but the low internal storage is a deal breaker.
Are there any plans for a follow up product of the CCR2004-1G-2XS-PCIe or an upgraded hardware revision?
When yes, will there be an option to add a Disk (NVMe, SATA, MicroSD or USB host port?
If anyone’s interested about the need for more storage. It would allow to run containers on the card and to act on traffic before it enters the host.
Accelerating RouterOS boot to complete before host OS startup would be very nice.
I would like to know this as well. I want to purchase a new one to have as an spare in case my main unit dies, but since it's for spare, I don't have any rush.
For me, it would be good enough to know if Mikrotik considers that the form factor is a success (since I recall at the beginning there were some driver problems); that alone would give us hints that they could work in a sucessor at some point (I guess that, if the current gen wasn't a success for them, there is no point to work in a replacement), even if it's specsheet is not yet defined.
