PPPoE + File Sharing/LAN Games

Hi

We have a network of clients, all connecting to our sites using pppoe (userman / radius managed) for internet.

We have received a couple of requests to create a wireless LAN for some of these clients so they can use windows file sharing and play LAN games.

What is the best way of going about setting up a connection for these clients so they can still access to the internet and also be able to LAN between them.

Our network setup:
Highsite - RB600 (PPPoE-Server, with Radius Authentication for clients) 10.1.x.x
Default Forward is on

Clients - RB411 (Wlan- PPPoE-Client, dials into RB600) 10.1.x.x - gets masqueraded
(Ether1 - DHCP server) 192.168.0.x

From the clients PCs we can ping any of the 10.1.x.x range IPs, including the other client PPPoE IPs. We can also use winbox on any of the 10.1.x.x range.

Thanks

make a queue, dst-address is ur client’s address block. and place this at the top.

Will making a queue, dst-address is client’s address block bypass the pppoe interface? We got it working, but the the LAN is capped under the pppoe instance. In other words, the speed available to the LAN routing is determined by the pppoe dynamic queue.

Hi, we managed to get it working, not as we planned, but working for now.
We gave the PPPoE 2MBps (LAN Speed), then we added a queue to the server to specify the internet speed of that IP.
We would still like to know how to create a seperate WLAN for gaming and file sharing, and the normal pppoe for internet and accounting.
