I have problem with RB1200 and it’s about speed. I have Internet connection 10/10Mbit connected to Ethernet port 5 and when I do speed test via Internet the highest speed I can get is like 2/2 Mbits.
It’s getting even worst when I do a bandwith test through router like this (eth 5 10.0.60.0/254 eth7 10.0.70.0/24) and a speed test between two computers connected to eth 5 and 7) In this test most of the time, the traffic is between 1.5 Mbit – 2 Mbits. The funny thing is, that when I change ports the traffic changes also…
I have tested it on a table and I realized that on some ports (I was switching the IP network from one port to another) I get different speed (no queue was set). Some ports where almost 100/100 (I’ve tested is with a Fast Ethernet card in my laptop) and some like 2/2Mbits.The problem is only with a TCP traffic, UDP works fine (in bandwith test). I have done some trails with changing MTU but without proper result. I have tested two RB1200 and both have this problem. Any clue wher is the problem?
I am having a different issue with an RB1200 that I am trying to figure out that I have pinned down to port 7 and port 8… the issue your having isn’t by chance these two ports is it? My problem was exactally the same on three different RB1200’s and didn’t happen on an RB1100.
Well, at one of my RB1200 i could’t get any transmision at port Eth 7. I just switched to next port and thats it. But there was also a problem with this port.
I hope that someone from Mikrotik will write, what is so special about port eth7 in RB 1200, because I have seen some post about the same issue. Also it would be nice to read some informations about general differences between the eternet ports in RB1200 (is it a bug or a feature?
