Isn’t there a proper tutorial, getting started guide or dummies guide for beginners in Mikrotik??
What do you need to know and read before you start to try and understand Mikrotik?? Or is the training where the money is to be made?
Most so-called tutorials I have seen, tell you what and how to do whatever, but what I am looking for is a guide that shows me a typical networking scenario and how mikrotik can be used to create it and the philosophy behind it. I hope this makes sense.
Probably the place to start would be the Basic category here on the wiki: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:TOC. Or pick up a book that covers a lot of the basics: http://learnmikrotik.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=151. These videos were helpful for me: http://mikrotikuniversity.com/index.php/mikrotik-training-videos/
In general, MikroTik / RouterOS assumes you are already have a good understanding of networking and related concepts.
There may be a few of these here and there, scattered on the wiki and other websites. I would search specifically for what you want to do and see if someone has done a tutorial/article. For example, a good SXT bridge article is here: http://www.wispforum.net/entry.php?5-How-to-Connect-two-Mikrotik-SXT-5D-s-In-Bridge-Mode-Part-I. This blog has some helpful articles: http://blog.butchevans.com/. The wiki has a lot of user contributed topics / tutorials: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_RouterOS
