Hello guys,
I have RB750gl, and I use pppoe to serve 12 clients. I set the bandwidth to be 5m/5m. The problem is that the client can’t have full upload and download at the same time. When the download is active, upload is slow. How can I solve this? My queues are default small, and they are created automatically. I have all queue settings as default. Should I change something with queues?
Dod you ever check the cpu load on the 750 and the clients? Under certain circumstances (a lot of forewalling and qeues) cou isahe can skyrocket quite fast
Thanks guys for replying. CPU load is usual 10%-30%
All what I want is to allow my clients to have full upload and download at the same moment. PPP profile is limited to 5m/5m, but when you download, the upload is almost zero.
This is abnormal behaviour, if you have set it to 5/5 then it should get that. What happens if you remove the limits and test? Do you still get 1 sided results?
Please do an
I removed all queues and I can get full upload and download at the same moment. I changed the queue type in PPP profile from default-small to wireless default, and it work now. I can get full upload and download at the same time. But my question is: is what I did right?
PS: I dont understand your point about paste the result here. Sorry I am still a beginner
OK so that may have something to do with upload saturation then. I’ve recently remade some of our queues away from default-small which uses pfifo to wireless/hotspot which uses sfq (I actually created a default-sfq option). All queue types are explained in the Wiki:Manual however in short pfifo won’t give full rates if you try to run an upload and download test simultaneously, sfq will give you nearly full results in that environment because of it round robin’ing the upload test and download test responses.
No not at all. It’s just a cosmetic name assigned to it. If you look both wireless and hotspot use the sfq type of queue or you can create your own and call it default-sfq and give it sfq style queueing an you will be fine.
