Quick VPN question

Quick question regarding VPN’s – I found an excellent guide online explaining how to setup a VPN client on a MicroTik, but I seem to have hit one problem – within the PPP setup section you need to enter the IP address of the VPN server (in my case a PPTP server), my VPN supplier will only supply a FQDN (I assume he has some sort of dynamic DNS front ending his servers so he can change the IP addy of the local servers when they get blocked).

So, any idea how to add a FQDN into this field?

FYI – device in use is a 951G-2HnD, firmware is 3.08, RouterOS is 5.26

Thanks in advance.

I am running 5.26 on an RB750GL. I entered an FQDN, username, password and clicked on APPLY. DNS kicked in and an IP address appeared.
Problem is that it sometimes does not work depending on the sequence of entry before APPLY. Other problem is that once the lookup is done it may become out of date in days, weeks, months, years if the IP’s change.

My recommendation would be to lookup the IP for the FQDN and just key in the current IP that you get.

I might be wrong because I only have 1 year of full time MikroTik experience
