Radio client name showing up in Wireless Tables

We recently started deploying in an area using MT has the AP. For 802.11 clients we are using CB3 boxes. Now when going into “Wireless Tables->Registration” on the Winbox interface, I see a slot called “Radio Name”. Now on all my PTP links with other MT boxes, that field is displaying correctly. But with all my CB3 clients it is empty. I have the radio name configured on the CB3 themselves. Is there a way to get this to show up. It would help alot during troubleshooting. I am currently running a prism card as my AP and release 2.8.26.

I intend to use CB3’s with my MT as well, but haven’t got that far yet - still testing the MT 532.

However if I’m not mistaken the “radio-name” only shows up if using Atheros cards http://www.mikrotik.com/docs/ros/2.8/interface/wireless

I believe the cards inside the CB3’s (assuming you’re using the 2611’s) is the NL-2511-CD EXT2 which are PRISM based.

That’s my guess.

Thanks for the information. I am using Atheros CM9 cards for the backhaul links that are showing the correct “radio name” fields; so that explains it. I guess I’ll have to rely on keeping up-to-date comments on the mac addresses in the “Wirelless Tables” section.

radio-name will only show correctly if there is a routeros on the other end.
this would be a routeros extension field in the 802.11 packets.
