I have googled and searched the forums until my fingertips turned to calis and cannot find a resolve anywhere.
I want to be able to reduce a pppoe speed upon past due account then redirect port 80 to a webpage (can be an ip) telling them there account has been throttled until there past due bill is posted to there account.
Ideally this site would add them to an address list stating the have read this message (not sure but think I can build this API) but not sure how to redirect this.
We are using Freeradius and assigning the Framed IP and speeds so the throttling is covered.
The PPPoe client is built into the Motorola Canopy SM’s (finally) so putting them thru the hotspot does not work.
Please any and all guidance will be greatly appreciated.
so, if you are already assigning the Framed IP, what’s problem to assign IP from different subnet, and then redirect all http request from this subnet to some webserver?..
Is there a tutorial on how to do this that you could point me to or would you be willing to provide me with the insight needed. I am pretty new to Mikrotik and am used to Logisenses’ EngageIP / Traffic Manager which we are desperatly trying to get away from that nightmare of a system.
Is there anyone who may be able to point me in the right direction in completing this task, the problem is I think I found a similiar statement at http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/redirect-http-for-pppoe-users-with-radius-attribute/29518/1 with no resolve. So I am not really sure how to do this or at this point if it can be done. Please shed some light on what needs to happen or if this isn’t possible.
I found this link http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/redirect-traffic-to-squid-linux/18710/1 I have tried before with no success. I still had the rule in there for this so I thought I would give it a go again. If anyone needs the answer the thing that had to be done is this had to be my very first rule otherwise it was never getting implemented. Even though this was for squid proxy i just set up a website on an IP address and had everything I needed. Hope this helps someone else.
FYI - I do not have proxy on.
Statement to people who are trying to help; This may not have been exactly what I needed to do but you obviously have the intelligence to be able to help people and somewhat of a desire I suppose. Just remember if we knew this information we would not ask so there for reading between the lines makes it much more difficult being far less knowledgeable about the software. I bet this could have helped hundreds of people out there if resolves would have been posted or a little more thoroughness, instead it keeps getting asked. I know this 2 cents isn’t worth a nickle but I do appreciate the direction as it got me digging into the other script more.
