i can mount a server raid with mikroitk os?
Ok here it goes…
“It depends”.. I know just what you wanted to hear…
SCSI = NO. There is no support for SCSI in RouterOS (There are NO plans for it at this time (Last I spoke to MikroTik))
IDE , SATA = This depends on the controller. If the host adapter / Controller “Hides” the array from RouterOS then yes.
I have seen RouterOS “Look thru” the Mirroring arrays created by SiliconImage SATA host adapters.
If you use some of the eSATA mirroring devices that have there own RAID controller, that present a “raw” block device to the host system (IE looks like one SATA device) to the host and DONT rely on the host to create the array via a firmware solution. it should work. (The controller MUST be an “inteligent device” that fools the OS into thinking it is only one device.
One that should work would be to use a DOM to boot RouterOS, and use a USB2 based external RAID box for proxy data. (RouterOS “Sees” USB drives as if they are SATA)
There is a solution I am working on that will provide hotplugable SATA mirroring support.
I will advise as soon as I have it nailed down.
ok thanks.
when you have good ideas i am here
Excuse me?!
This is a major software flaw for example in the controller and/or actual config you were trying and/or Linux kernel in the OS you tried. I can’t f..king believe it. This should NEVER happen!! Are you sure you did it correctly? You are saying - mirroring - well what about RAID0 config?
