random probe re-appearing after restart dude

hi,

As I don’t want the random (50:50) probe in my dude maps, I deleted it from the probe list.
After restarting dude 6.40.4 it magicly re-appears, is there a way to stop this ?

regards,

Eddie

2023 - Problem still actual
On my RB1100Dx4 r2 (Dude Edition) v7.10.2 - default probes come back after reboot.

rnd50:50 probe + discovery = a lot of pain.

I can confirm this behavior is still occurring. Is this by design? I mean, is it by design that all out-of-the-box probes are recreated each time the software is updated or the router is rebooted? Does that seem like a wise design decision?

Pretty much the only time I reboot the router is to install an update. Last night I installed dude 7.19.6 x86 on the router hosting our Dude server, and sure enough the rnd 50:50 probe was automatically recreated, and alerts lit up like a Christmas tree. I had removed the probe definition, and removed all the rnd 50:50 services last time I updated the router.

I have modified the Probability setting to 100%, but that seems silly since it means the dude server is constantly running the code behind the probe against all the devices defined. I mean I know it's not a lot of CPU, but why use any when that probe is really only useful during initial setup of dude.

Dude is not touched for years so why enybody excepts the change?

thanks for the reply @BertoszP - is dude dead? Is there a design roadmap anywhere? I had no idea dude was essentially defunct.

The main Mikrotik page for dude states:

The Dude network monitor is a new application by MikroTik which can dramatically improve the way you manage your network environment.

That makes it sound like the product has a future.

I would use the word "coma" instead of "dead"
