RB1100AHx4 Turns Off/Reboot Automatically

Hello All,

I am facing a strange issue. I have been using HEX and everything was working fine. Last night I upgraded to RB1100AHx4 because I needed more ports. I did all the settings from HEX to this one.
But strangely it turns off by itself. Its just random, no specific time or anything.
I can hear a click sound (sound of relay), and it never comes back; the blur light is on. I have to remove the power plug and put it on again and it come back. I am using both supplies; meaning I have connected both primary and secondary/redundant power supply. Still no luck.

Firmware and routerOS, both are 6.47.7. Cannot be a wiring issue, because there are only 3 wires connected at the moment, which were working fine when I was using hex. 2 wires are coming from HEX which is my WAN and 1 is connected to a network switch. I miss HEX GR3, it was working fine.

Can anyone please help what can be the issue?

Oh, yes, wanted to let you all know that the previous version of RouterOS was 6.46 and there was no issue, it was working fine for almost 8 hours. but after the upgrade, I cannot predict anything; it turns off itself. I have just enabled logging on disk, so that I can know if there is anything. And if there is, I will also share.
Please help.

Regards

Generate a Supout file and report a fault to Mikrotik. There’s been issues like this reported with the RB1100AHx4. I’d also try going back to the previous version 6.46 that you used.

Does this happen if you power it with POE?

Ok, I will create a support file and send it to mikrotik. Please tell me that should I make the file after it gets rebooted ?

I have not checked it. I dont have PoE supply so cannot check that.

I started the router with backup supply and disconnected the power from Main supply, since than it has not rebooted.

If so, and if it is reproducible (a week on backup supply is fine but as soon as you connect external power to the main one, problems start again), it is a clear warranty case.

Two days uptime now. No shutdown. Tomorrow I will have full load on it. Will check and report back.

Naa. it does not work. Just replaced with a new one. Lets hope that it works. There is nothing in the log. So cannot investigate at all. Please check the attached picture; it comes into this position, all ethernet lights turn off, i hear the relay CLICK sound and its gone, only blue led is on; I have to plug the power out and back in for it to work. No restart no nothing, POWER CYCLE to work. This has become a huge issue for me. Hex was working fine, unfortunately hex’s license level is low.

Need second opinion, should I send it in warranty ?

Yes. After power cycle to restore operation create a Supout and create a support case with Mikrotik.
