RB1200 and 3 RB433APS - High Latency Pings / Unusable setup

Hi All

Im having some huge problems with what should be a very simply setup. I cant post the config as ive reset to defaults (again) to try and see if I was doing something wrong.

RB1200 (v5.7) Has 2 Vlans ( HotSpot and Management) - It is running hotspot server which seems to be working fine.

3 x 433 (v5.4, v5.5 and v.5.6) eth1 bridged to Management VLAN, Wlan bridged to hotspot vlan, all wired back to the RB1200. RBs are running on Ch1,Ch6,Ch11 to offer basic roaming around the venue (external)

Problem is when I associate with the AP, im getting an IP address fine from the hotspot server, but its very slow browsing to the login page. This is from standing just 15 foot away from the AP.

Closer inspection shows the ping to 10.0.0.1 (the HotSpot server Ip on the RB1200) is jumping from 20ms to 6000ms

Is there some mystical setting to run an RB433 (using DBii WiFI card) as an AP? IS there issue using VLANs? Any ideas?

Any advise gladly taken on best config for an AP when used in a HotSpot environment.

David

You said you bridged eth1 to managment vlan ? why ?

Also how do you create vlans on RB1200 using add vlan interface or using switch chip funtionality ?

Also on RB433 please add eth2 to bridge where hotspot vlan exist and check is it problem with wireless or else.

Also on that bridge go to bridge settings and copy bridge mac address to “admin-mac” address.

hard to help you not seeing all configuration.
