RB192 - Slow Traffic from LAN to DMZ FTP 800k/sec -> 100% CP

Hi,

I recently purchased 2 RB192 devices. For PC replacement

1 Board on an 10/1 Mbit ADSL ← This board is 150km away
1 Board on an 15/1 Mbit ADSL ← This it the board currently testing

Now i found out the when i place an MiniITX based Debian server on an interface that i wil name DMZ. The FTP traffic drops to 800/1800 k/sec.

This is from Ether1 to Ether7 (Ether6 same problem)

When i do a test where the MiniITX debian and my Notebook (Windows XP SP2) is connected tot the same network i get 9000-10000 k/sec

LAN 192.168.110.252
DMZ 192.168.110.252

MiniITX Debian 192.168.110.200 when connected to LAN 192.168.200.200 when connected to DMZ. Laptop connected true ethernet 192.168.110.23

I also found out that CPU wil hop to 100% when i do a LAN ↔ DMZ test

Any ideas what to do next ?

Just disabled “connection tracking” and here are the results

  • Internet connection lost (SRC-NAT no longer working)

As you can see the speed is doubled. Still no wire speed…

Just enabled connection tracking but disabled FTP Service Port

These are the results.

But why is the ftp service port interfearing with LAN ↔ DMZ traffic. No nat rules are applyed. Just RIP. No filtering i think

Dont expect wirespeed performance from port to port, the rb192 is cpu limited and you cant expect switch performance from it

Is there a routerboard which does support higher bandwith ?

I just dont understand the bandwith test results MT gives us. Am i getting everything out of the board the way im using it now?
