RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN - Aftermarket antennas?

I just got my first routerboard today (RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN) and it looks like it will be great!

Unfortunately I didn’t realize it lacked SMA connectors (my mistake).

I understand the mini PCI card on the board has 2 x MMCX connectors (http://routerboard.com/pdf/422/RB2011UAS_2HnD.pdf).
Are the connectors on the board MMCX female?

I guess I just buy an MMCX to SMA adapter… Is this the correct gender setup: RP-SMA male to MMCX male RA pigtail ?

Does anyone know if adding 8dbi aftermarket SMA antennas could pose any problems?

Also, do the MMCX adapter just pull off the board or is there a special trick?

Yes. You can see the connectors up close in this picture: http://img.routerboard.com/pricelist/289_hi_res.png

There should not be any problems with adding higher gain antennas, or using mmcx->sma pigtail converters. The MMCX connector does simply unplug, no tricks there.

Thank you for your quick answer!

It looks like the the connectors on the board MMCX are female. Is this correct?

Please see this post, where I linked which connectors I used.
