RB2011UiAS-2HnD - cannot reset to factory-defaults

Hi all,

I’ve lost access to the admin username and at the moment I have access only to a username belonging to Local group, within Winbox I cannot reset the Routerboard. So, I’ve tried to use the reset button, tried several methods, pushing the pin after and before turning power on, after, waiting for ACT blink, waiting 5, 7, 10 seconds, no matter what I tried it failed to reset the device. I’ve managed to reset a Mikrotik device many times before but this time is different. Can someone help with this one? What I’m doing wrong? I need to reset my device. Thank you in advance.

Depends on how you lost the access. It’s possible to disable the reset button, or to set a certain time for it.

I’ve lost/forgot the password. I want to reconfigure the device from scratch, how can I enable the reset button?

What is the output of /system routerboard settings print ?

So nothing to worry about. Just make sure you carefully follow the Netinstall manual:
https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Netinstall

Solve it. In Routerboard settings I’ve changed enable-jumper-reset to YES. Then I was able to reset the device by button.
Thank you all.

*By the way, tried Netinstall, but didn’t worked. I can see the device it says Ready, I press the install, nothing happens and after about 10 second it shows Ready again, not OK or any other message. Very strange.

I always had the same experience until yesterday; yesterday, I exited the netinstall application once I saw the routerboard in the target list and ran it again (the same version), and after that pressing the [install] did what was expected (formatted the flashdisk and uploaded the .npk).
