RB4011iGS+RM limited download speed because of CPU speed

Hello,

Have a RB4011iGS+RM with CPU speed set to auto. Running 7.14.
While set to Auto, CPU speed seems to reach a max of 1400 Mhz and a download speed via https of 50-60 MB/s from a server with direct peering.
CPU temperature is around 33 Celsius. Fasttrack is enabled.
If I set the CPU speed manually at 1900 Mhz, the same download now reaches a steady 100-110 MB/s.
Set the CPU speed back to Auto and the speed drops to 50-60MB/s again.
This model should do 1900Mhz under load according to Mikrotik: CPU nominal frequency auto (533 - 1900) MHz
Anyone else with RB4011iGS+RM observing this?

That’s interesting. I think the RB4011 used to clock its CPU at a fixed 1400 MHz when running ROS 6 and old spec sheets still list it that way, e.g. https://www.getic.com/files/catalogue/mikrotik/rb4011igs_rm.pdf
I wonder when Mikrotik decided to change the official specs to “auto (533 - 1900) MHz”. Maybe they plan to raise the max auto frequency in a future update!?

I’m still on ROS 7.13.5 and CPU frequency scales between 533 MHz and 1400 MHz. However, in my case this is enough to get gigabit throughput.

By stating I only get 50-60 MB/s I meant with single threaded downloads from a https server with CPU set to Auto.
Speed tests and downloading a well seeded torrent like linuxmint for example are gigabit with CPU set to Auto.

I was wondering about that “auto (533 - 1900) MHz” also, because I was recalling 1400 max for RB4011, same as with RB1100AHx4.
