i have a problem with the routerboard rb750g i have it connected to my ubnt sectors all five ports and they show 10mbps but when i take down all the radio’s from the tower down to the ground and connect the radio’s and the switch it show 100mbps when i take it and put it on the tower it shows 10mbps the lan cables are long as 10meters not more then that poe cable runs to the ubnt radio then the lan cable into the switch i have almost the same setup at my office a ubnt radio going to a rb433 and it shows 100mbps when i remove them off auto negotion the link stop’s working any1 with help i am really stuck.
Thanks alot guys for your reply i will try to force from both sides do you think that the interference could cause 10mbps because their are alot of cables up their and i think that tower is fuken witch crafted man it has cause me alot of truble one radio use to go on and off the lan which i have just sloved and made them all stable but the 10mb link is trubling me alot
i will get back to you asap with the results on force
their;s radio anntenna fm anntenna alot of fone anntenna’s and also alot of rj45 connectors when you mean ground the cat5e you mean leave the grey wire on without removing ? it and what do i ground the radio’s are plastic the poe’s are plastic i can only ground the anntennas and the power box?
Ouch. Trying to use a tower with existing FM radio equipment is a recipe for trouble…
FM interference will reliably kill your Ethernet transmissions again and again.
You can try using highest-quality Ethernet Cables and proper grounding/shielding, but it will probably be useless anyways.
Another possibility is to get as far as possible using fibre-optic transmission and keep the copper ethernet wiring to the extreme minimum.
Since Mikrotik does not support SFP modules, that does mean you will have to buy two media converters, one at the foot of the tower, and another on top.
my friends on the same tower are using mikrotik boards but not poe they power up the boards via jack and then run a lan cable and it works at 100mbps i am the only person using poe on that tower as my radio’s do not have a jack to power up the radios and run lan on its on so basically what do you suggest i do as i have tried ftp shelided umm one think i got round is that when i connect to the laptop and negotiate to the computer automatically it bring 10mbps but if i set the laptop card to manually only allow 100 mbps i can ping and recive data direct on the laptop but when i connect to the rb750g switch and tell the switch just to allow 100 mbps the switch port goes death and doesnt run unless i put it back to auto negotiation and 10 mbps
I think the problem is that RB750G is a consumer product with a plastic case. Everything are plastic, so shielded Cat5e cable probably makes no difference at all.
Buy or make UTP cables same lenght as on your tower. Connect your equipment as is connected on tower in no-EMI enviroment, like office room.
If everything will work fine you should change cables on tower.
yes thats what exactly is happening but i will just run the network on 10mbps will that work just for internet as the system is stable all i need to do is wait for the ftp cable i have ordered cat5e outdoor
