I very much doubt they will bring that out as a product. If you look at the “older” RB750 range it didn’t really feature this. Maybe when the “new” RB950 range come through then there will be a single PoE port with a faster processor.
Yes, but… If you power the hEX PoE with 24V, it only does passive PoE. If you power it with 48V, it only does 802.3af/at.
So if I have two af/at devices (e.g., a wsAP ac lite and a cAP ac), and two passive PoE devices (e.g., an RB2011 and an RB260GS), they can’t be powered by the same hEX PoE.
That means two hEX PoEs, two Ethernet cables, and two power supplies… or a single device that supports both passive and af/at simultaneously.
I’d rather that device be a MikroTik router, even with the footprint of an RB2011/3011.
