[RB750UP] Huawei E398 connection problem

Hi,

I have brand new Huawei E398 modem which is on the “Supported Hardware” list. My mikrotik is RB750UP with 5.14 OS.

I have some problems with connection. On this forum I found topic about problems with K3520 and I have same looking log after configuration.

initializing…
reseting link…
initializing modem…
dialing out…
authenticated
terminating… - modem hunged up
disconnected

I try diffrent init comands ( modem respoding on AT, ATI, ATZ comands from terminal ), check PIN, check Phone but nothing work still same log loop.

What can I check next ?

Hi, sorry for my english. First disable pin (not in mikrotik but in software of huawei)
I have this same problem.
Solution:
connect modem to windows, login modem, then quickly switch to mikrotik. This is “half solution” but in my mikrotik (rb433)working. When I want s to connect by mikrotik get this same log.
Max speed modem connected to mikrotik is 12Mbit. When I plug to windows (windows7) max speed is 30-40Mbit (modem is connected to this same station).
Anyone have an idea why?

Thanks for replay.

I disable PIN using phone and sitll not working . Same log.

Hello, you must turn off auto cd. I found command AT AT^SETPORT=“A1,A2;1,2,3,7” and this working with my e398.I have problem only with speed, perhaps when I plug usb hub then speed will go up. My routerboard is rb433uah.

Hello, I have the same problem. Modem uses 3G not LTE. Signal strength -65 dBm. Speedtest shows ~15 mbit/s. After pluging to laptop with original driver speedtest shows ~50 mbit/s.

Hi, this is answer from Mikrotik:
Hello,

there is nothing we could do as we use ppp type connection for 3g/4g for those
modems and not ethernet type connections as it requires a separate driver and
currently we are not planning to add support for it.
