RB912UAG with LTE Card Huawei ME909s-120 stop working after 50MB Traffic

Hi Forum,

i have the following Problem:

Routerboard 912UAG-2HPnD with Firmware: 3.33 and OS 6.32.4
installed a LTE Card
Huawei ME909s-120 with Firmware: 11.617.01.00.00

The USB Setting is PCIe

The LTE Connection works fine, and after a few MB of Traffic the Card is not registered to the LTE Provider.
I have to Reset the USB Power for 4 Sek and the Connection works again for a few MB Traffic.

I also tried another LTE Card, but the Problem is still there.

Please find out the correct APN from the provider. It states now “gprsinternet”. Please verify it.

Hello,

the APN is correct,
i tried 2 SIM Cards from different Providers.

Still the same Problem.

After a fiew MB of traffic the LTE stopp working.

i have problem with me909s-120, where did you get firmware 3.33 for 912UAG? mb this can help me :frowning:

Just encountered the same Problem with Huawei 909s-120 (FW 11.617.01.00.00) in 912UAG-2HPnD (Basebox 2) with Routeros 6.36rc28 (RB-Firmware 3.33). Doing a USB-Power Reset for 10 Seconds brings back the Huawei LTE-Interface, but only for a few more megabytes.

@Shaeto - Just in case you didn’t figure it out already, Routerboard Firmware comes with RouterOS and can be upgraded via /system routerboard upgrade

We have Two different 909s in our lab but we cannot replicate this issue,

also tried 6.37rc12 + 3.33 with same result - lte interface not recognized, under win 10 it works fast and reliable

I can confirm I have the exact same problem. If needed, I can arrange to you guys an remote session to the base box in question..

I have now tested this a bit, and seems that the card connection/missync is not directly related to the amount of data transferred.
It just happens, sometimes sooner, sometimes later…
I have tested several ROS version, none is to give a solution.
Looking for deperately a solution.

Have you tried it on any other Mikrotik boards ?

No, I have not tried, as I do have then some very old 433s and nothing else which is Mini-PCI.
But, I might have a clue here, which is the power supply to the card.
See attached file also. When I put the card into 2G (GSM) mode, it keeps running. I tried to get info from Mikrotik how the power supply part on RB912UAG is designed but so far no answer.
Sounds like while the LTE card is eating more power, it does not get enough.
I will still test also the delivered power supply, maybe using external adjustable supply and higher voltage to compensate the long CAT cable.

my 5cents: me909s-120 works much better after i disabled wireless interface on 912UAG, so, i use it only as lte point and share data using eth1

can’t analyse this config there is too many variants: 1. disabled wireless allocated more power for minipci, 2. bad hardware design, 3. bad drivers, …


update: module works w/o restarts more than day after i disabled wireless hardware

I had the same problem, and (I hope) solved it by disabling WLAN.

Mikrotik, is it possible that this bug still exists?

CONFIRMED!
I use ME909s-120 with mPCIe to USB converter on 2011UAS-2HnD with Ros: 6.44.3
I’ve tested ME909s-120 with FW version: 11.617.15.00.00 and 11.617.09.00.00
but i obtain “lte1 link down” after a few Mbyte downloaded!!!
If i disable wlan all work ok! But…i doubt that is an insufficient power supply because for the final test i’ve used an special “splitted usb” cable that power the usb LTE devices by an external power supply… But SAME PROBLEM!
Well we need to investigate more accurately, because in the first day that i’ve inserterd the lte usb all it works!.. one day suddenly give me this strange problem!.. hope that it help
