RBLHGR with gigabit Ethernet

Anyone know when RBLHGR will be updated with gigabit Ethernet?
Here in Australia, mobile network operators are deploying LTE category 11 (600Mbps) and LTE category 16 (1Gbps) services.

I too am looking forward to next revision/model.

They will need a Gigabit interface and a M.2 slot instead of a mPCIe to support the latest and greatest modems.

Yea, there seem to be many more modem options with M.2 slot than mPCIE, when it comes to latest and greatest modems.

Mini PCI Express used on current RBLHGR already has a maximum throughput of 2.5Gb/s. Sure, upgrade to PCI Express M.2 if necessary but I expect that would require a lot more modifications.

An easier approach could be to refactor RBM11G to fit within LHGR chassis as a direct replacement of RBLHGR.

I think we will see most new modems will be released with M.2. Most all of the Cat12 and higher modems are already only available in M.2

+1, I’m too and I write at post Future of LTE products, user feedback requested → #101 that:

We need LHGR + R11e-LTE6 with

  • 1GbE port - currently even SXTR with bonding at 2xFE have a bottleneck to FE at CPU :frowning:
  • 2CA for 1+3 and 1+7 and 3+7 - currently only 3+7 :frowning:
  • LGHR with corrected 700 and 900Mhz Gain - currently works better with inverted antenna at 180°. Only 800Mhz works straight forward (and >1800Mhz).
  • Bigger DISH

or BIG LGHR case for RBM11G
or LDF-LTE6 with sattelite dish

Like others are saying, these higher CAT modems are only available in M.2 anyway. Port won’t help.

@normis

False, they are many like Telit LM960 Cat18 on mPCIe and 8 pcs. nPCIe at TechShip vs 11 pcs. at m.2 form factor .
1GbE or just bonding at 2xFE give us true good transfers when some one is on short distance for sxtr/lhgr but very bad for soho device.

There is a LM960 modem sitting on my table, waiting for capable LTE dish/router to be placed in. Perhaps, I will try out one of the NetMetal devices, but I don’t need WiFi capability, just a good LTE dish/antenna/router for outdoor mounting.
