It sits in my cabin, so I cannot take a picture right here, but will do next time on site.
The setup comprises:
-RBM33G
-MiniPCIe to M.2 B key adapter
-Quectel RM502Q-AE M.2 card
-4x MHF4 (?) to RP-SMA pigtails (very tiny little brother of u.fl.)
-4x RP-SMA “blade” antennas
-Oldschool RB433 metal case
BTW Normis, when will Mikrotik R11E-5G cards appear?
I guess you plan to roll out 5G versions of all your “LTEx kit” devices?
I have LHG LTE18 device and i am fitten RM520N-EU moden to it.
Is these quectel X62 based cards plug and play things? Yesterday i try Quectel card in modem but antenna connectors was wrong size..
But in management screen i cannot see any band selections.
yoyo! Here from 2024.
I was able to get RBM33G work with T99W175 (aka DW5930e) 5G modem works via usb port on my Mikrotik.
Feel free to ask questions. It was a bit of work done but it is working now. The only thing is that there is no AT commands supported yet.
Yahoo
I do not have photo, and still using LM960, but same solution will use for 5G when time comes.
PCIE riser with flexible band. Works stable. My case is located at hot place under roof, so cooling modem is essential. Even with small radiator LM960 was getting too hot summertime, getting close to 80C. So I used metal case, modem touching it. No mi=ore issue with temperature.
Since 5G modem MUST be connected to 33G thru some kind of m.2 pcie adapter, I will use same approach.
Of course I would prefer to spend some money on “RBM44G” with two M.2 ports with USB3.0 lines on it.
Here are pictures of my device:
-RBM33G
-MiniPCIe to M.2 B key adapter
-Quectel RM502Q-AE M.2 card
-4x MHF4 (?) to RP-SMA pigtails (very tiny little brother of u.fl.)
-4x RP-SMA “blade” antennas
-Oldschool RB433 metal case

This is the adapter?
Thanks and regards.
Looks very similar.
Actually I bought this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/264926721377
Guess as long as it is M.2 B key to MiniPCI-e with sim slot(s) you will be happy
How?
- it has no USB interface support - it’s PCIE only
- it starts in fcc-locked state and has to be unlocked first. unlock procedure varies by variant (Dell is different from HP or Lenovo) - see https://modemmanager.org/docs/modemmanager/fcc-unlock/
Any chance you can help me out? I’m trying to get a T99W175 working in an LTAP. Thanks!
Here is the solution. And this will be revolutionary in future of this T99W175 x55 Snapdragon model.
1st thing what needs to be done is to solder 2 back pins (better option is to use 1-10 kOhm resistor) see picture
2nd this is to isolate pin3 (I taped with clear tape but there are many better options lol)
And dont forget to switch to AT^CUSTOMER=0 (CUSTOMER=1 also has same vid/pid)before you attach to mikrotik. Otherwise it will not recognise different vid/pid
AT-Chat terminal is stable on 7.15 RC2 routerOS.
And use m2 to minipcie adapter (I got the cheapest one on ebay 7$)
I am not regularly checking mikrotik forum due to my busy family life, but sometimes it is helpfull to share information and check for any other updates. On the screen you will see RMB11G but it also work with any other mikrotik models, I have plenty of them different
Best speed that I got so far it war around 300 MB/sec due to lack of the 5G signal. It was only 1 band (n41) 100mhz wide.
Closer to the tower I got around 700 MB/sec
Good luck mate!
anybody else had success with t99w175 and mikrotik? i have this modem plus rbm33g but i cannot make it work.
my situation is not so on topic, but i’m using a rm520n-glaa with waveshare adapter m.2/ethernet in a hap ax3 with usb3 cable.
It was very simple to setup, the worst think was the ipex connections…why so small???
I’m planning to use it with ethernet link, because the hap ax3 usb3 port works in 2.1…the same cable/adpter in a pc works in usb3.1.
Rural place i’m using hapax3 has no 5g (only lte) so even usb2 is good…ethernet in future will be better.
Another strange behaviour is about at-chat command, some AT commands receive ok from putty->serial, but from winbox terminal using at-chat syntax same command receive error
Anyone knows if there are existing and compatible 5G modem cards in miniPCIe form factor instead of M.2 that would work in a MikroTik device without other tinkering?
None that I know. Best I’ve found in miniPCIe is CAT18. If you care more about the 5G bands, than the speed, Fibocom appears to make a miniPCIe “5G RedCap” modem - but those have a way lower speed than a “real” CAT18 LTE modem & cannot say whether they even work (but come in miniPCIe and 5G bands):
https://www.fibocom.com/en/products/5GRedCap-FG132-MiniPCIe.html
FWIW, any third-party modem requires some tinkering, since RouterOS’s LTE modem firmware upgrade is limited to the modems they ship. And then there is whole connector business…sometime the connectors are MHF4 not U.FL.
I’m looking for a 5G “client” device to add 5G (at high speed) at a location where VDSL is not fast enough.
I’m hoping for a 5G version of one of the known LTE devices (wAP, SXT etc), if not I likely go for a competitor like Teltonika.
You have the Chateau if you’re in Europe. Nothing outdoor. Well other than shoving a Chateau 5G in outdoor box.
It seems that Teltonika is the MikroTik of 5G products… it offers the TRB500 which is just what I need.
The only thing holding me back is that it will be another software environment to learn, face issues and getting them resolved, etc.
But probably there will not be much to configure, I only want to connect it to an ethernet port on the RB5009 and provide internet connectivity.
(hopefully without adding another level of NAT or routing, i.e. as transparent as possible)
I know that MikroTik would be able to offer a similar device, but of course one can only do so many things at a time.

question: your M.2 B Key to MiniPCI-e adapter … is it with or without a soldered SIM-card-holder ?
,
I’ve ordered an adapter with SIM-card-holder ( why not have a ball plus … was the thinking ] … and I can see my modem … but I get a ’ pin status: “ERROR” ’ all the time
.
tried to put the SIM-card in the adapter-SIM-holder and also in the rbm33g-SIM-holder … always ERROR … both winbox and usb-serial-emulation with AT+CPIN? … ERROR
.
SIM+PIN works flawless in another router … and the m.2 modem worked with SIM+PIN in a windows-laptop ( with “native”-m.2-slot )
.
maybe there’s an AT-command to choose the right SIM-slot if two slots are present … … maybe … “have a ball plus” … was the wrong thinking ?!
.
opinions … ideas ?
