Reason for autosupout

Sometimes I find an autosupout.rif file on a router. The router has not rebooted or otherwise failed.
I tried uploading the file to my account and viewing it with the supout.rif viewer.
A lot of information about the router and config, but one item I cannot locate: the reason why this
autosupout.rif file was written. How can it be found?

Hi

It looks like is automatic autosupout
Ckeck this topic.

http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/autosupout-rif/21875/1

I know that. But I would like to know what was the particular error that made it create this autosupout.
There does not appear to be an item in the information table that indicates that. Or am I missing something?
The network pinging watchdog is not configured, so that should not be it. And it is probably not the hardware
watchdog either, as those routers have NOT rebooted at the time those autosupout files were created.
So what is the reason the router decided to write the autosupout file. Probably some detected “abnormal situation”,
then why is it not mentioned in the file or in the log?

I think this error (hardware/software) will not be available in MikroTik log, i’m sure inside deep linux kernel we can check this log.
The same reason that we couldn’t install new drivers in mikrotik, we have limited access to linux that support routerOS funcionality

Again found an autosupout.rif…
But no indication what causes this. Router was functioning normally when this happened.

Reason of automatic supout can be seen only if you contact support@mikrotik.com and send such file to us.

In most cases autosupout is generate due to Winbox crash. So, if you used Winbox and it suddenly stopped working, then autosupout file should be generated.

Ah ok that could be it!
I am using winbox under wine (don’t know if that is part of the reason) and sometimes when I open the firewall window I get no response anymore and I have to kill the winbox.
(it is a pity that the session is not saved, sometimes I lose a lot of customization that way, now I regularly click “save” but it would be nice when this was automatic for long sessions)

However, is there any place in the supout.rif analyzer where I can see that this was the reason for the autosupout?
That was the main reason for this topic. I would expect some field in the analyzer tells me the cause for the supout (manual, watchdog, Winbox, etc)

I have sent the file to my account on the mikrotik site and used the analyzer there.
It would probably be a good idea to add this to that analyzer so I don’t need to bother support with such questions.
(at the moment it is not required anymore because I now know it was caused by the Winbox problem that happens maybe once a week, consistent with the autosupout.rif appearances)
