Restore configuration method

Hi all,

I’m looking for the good method to restore my configuration since an other house.

In this moment, i’m using “import myconfig.rsc”.

Is it possible to introduce this line to clear the all configuration and import all lines ?

Maybe a waiting command is required ?

Thanks a lot.

  1. use winbox and try to understand how it works by MAC addess, not by IP.
  2. continue only if you know how use winbox by MAC address
  3. now you can use winbox by MAC addres, right?
  4. on original device open new terminal and export the config with the command /export file=config
  5. open files and with drag-and-drop save on desktop the config.rsc
  6. disconnect and turn off or go away from original device
  7. connect to new device
  8. delete all deletable file on “files” menu
  9. go on system / reset configuration and select no-default-config and do-not-backup and reset
  10. open config.rsc with notepad, or similar, and select-all and copy-all (on clipboard)
  11. on winbox, by MAC address, open new device, open new terminal, and select “paste” after a mouse “right-click” on terminal withespace
  12. set the password
  13. Now change the config accordingly new needs.

Yes, it’s a secure methode but only on the local area network.

If i am connected on the web only, not on my local area network.

The MAC Adress is not available, no ?
