does anybody research maximum distance of RouterBOARD SXT with 100Mbps throughput?
am testing the antenna 5 meters away and adjust the tx power to made -65dbm reading on both side
i Got 190Mbps half duplex and 92Mbps full duplex
but those in UDP, i havent test TCP yet ..
the last capture after doing several configs in HT,
using nv2
how far r the radios located. is it bench test or 5 mtrs like u said. i want results for 3-5 km link with clear LOS. Also let me know the CCQ FOR THE RESULTS.
We have links at 10Km and it’s working fine. No specific tests I can give, maybe somebody else has similar links?
i need to achieve 12 kms and plan to use SXT.
can I get good results??
11km with sextant show stable 80mbps udp testing speed between wireless cards. cpu at that time 100%. testing with computers on both sides will show more for sure. So if are asking me then use sextant for 10-15km. never had this good result with sxt tho.
well mikrotik guys have accepted that thier SXT was tested for upto 10kms. and that is mentioned on this forum itself.
any idea about that??
i have tested sxt for over 10 kms on a plain terrain. mostly green fields in between.
bandwidth test showed 60 mbps but realtime internet traffics goes for a toss after 6 mbps. the latencies go high.
now that is practical thank you very much…
maybe 5 Kms is the best option for the SXT as of now…
Hello everybody!I am planning to buy a new Sxt Lite5,the distance is 1 km,we would like to connect 2 LAN networks, and testing, learning some things, one of my friend said to me,he is working for a WISP at the moment, and they tested this new sxt,and the results was terrible on 200 meters, the signal strenght was 80 dBm,and he said to me:“this device has a very weak antenna”,ok maybe 16 dBi is not too much, but for 1 km i think enough,if the freshnel is clear, and if not too noisy the area, and the price is acceptable for me,actually that is an interested question, why do not have a 25 dBi Mikrotik CPE,with 600 Mhz CPU,and 64 MB Ram,because maybe that would be expensive
This sounds pretty implausible to me. Even with a horrible antenna, -80dBm at 200m is very hard to believe (unless one radio is inside a Faraday Cage or something).
Yes i know, because i think an sxt enough for 1 km,and in normal conditions, it should be work properly,we planning to buy, because the price is good,600 Mhz,64 MB Ram,but it has got just 100 Mbit/sec Ethernet port
Hi, I now have some NV2/SXT gear deployed and have been running speed tests. Let me know what you’re interested in knowing and I’ll see if I can run a suitable test. Right now I have an AP using a 912 and an Itelite MIMO 90 degree sector and two CPE : one SXT Lite5 and one using a 911 and a 21dB Itelite antenna, both mounted at the same location 3km from the AP. In the weeks to come I will be deploying more CPE at different locations up to 5km range.
The SXT is almost as fast as the more expensive 912-based CPE. In fact if I had the two aimed perfectly they might be able to achieve the same modulation rate. I’m seeing about 85Mbits/s UDP and 50Mbits/s TCP (both directions concurrently) to each CPE. With both running at the same time, throughput roughly halves. These are tests run using the RB Btester on each end of the wireless link. A more representative test would be to run the tester on different devices, but I only spent an evening doing some quick tests so far.
I’m using a channel with zero noise, and the location is way out of town where there is generally a low noise floor except for interference from my own gear on the same tower.
Hello,i am interesting about speedtest on 5 km distance,i mean between 2 sxt,i think the 5 km is the maximum distance in normal case if the freshnel is perfect and not too noisy the area, thank you very much for your help, but 50 Mbit/sec TCP speed not bad from this device if it is possible to achieve on 5km as well
Ok I will post some results when I have the CPE deployed at 5km. We have no Fresnel zone issues here – steep terrain and we avoid tree foliage in the zone.
Note that I don’t have the ability to test SXT to SXT over 5km because the 90 degree SXT product was not available in the US at the time I needed to deploy, so I have a 912 and a 90 degree Itelite antenna instead. Performance should be very similar though, based on my comparison tests between 91x boards and SXT on the CPE side.
On my Ubnt sector 16dbi/120 with RB912, there is an 3 to 7 dbm difference between SXT and RB912, in RB912 favor.
SXT Lite has better receive sensitivity though, so it may be even overall.
Using SXT Lite on urban environment, LOS clear but not sure about the fresnel zone (some tree top might be in the zone), distance around 1.5km:
Signal around -64db, signal to noise 47db, tcp btest gives 55Mpbs.
On 2,4 GHZ or 5 ?
