Once was a time that I thought WinBox was updated when the new dlls were downloaded. Missed a lot of new features that way.
I have just downloaded and installed the 2.9.24 vers. and after install and reboot, MK just says that the demo license has expired, without working on single second
You prob have a RB5XX..
You tried to copy the files and reboot but the router did not upgrade..
You DID NOT look at the logs and see that the upgrade time had expired
(Neither did I)
You performed a NetInstall upgrade / install and selected to keep the current config..
The router did as it was told.. the Lic. showed as “expired” and the router showed a version that was installed past its installation limit and shut its self down..
Here is the fix..
Renew your license.
Store the resulting text string as a file the machine performing the reinstall.
Boot the RB5XX into “monitor” and perform an ethernet boot to connect to the netinstall server.
Point the lic. text box to the licenst file you created earlyer.
BE SURE TO SELECT “KEEP PREVIOUSE SETTINGS” CHECK BOX OR YOU WILL REGRET IT.
Perform the upgrade.
All done…
Elapsed time with all issues of connectivity etc… Over 2Hrs…
Experiance for next time and to help others who dont want to bang their head against the wall for an extended time… PRICELES…
