Hello,
First of all sorry if I am creating a duplicate issue on this matter. I’ve searched this forum and many others however and I did not see this exact issue so far and that’s why I am opening a new thread.
I am trying to install RouterOS 6.27 (I’ve tried with 5.x, 4.x, 3.x and 2.x for that matter also) on an Alix 2d2 and I can’t manage to get it done.
I am using Netinstall to make it happen, I’ve tried installing it directly on the CF card (tried with all packages as well as with the upgrade package only) and also using PXE (using the tutorial on the MikroTik wiki). I’ve changed 3 CF cards because I’ve read that some Sillicon Power CF card controllers had some issues in the past, so I used also SanDisk and Lexar CF cards.
Everything failed!
Like I said, I am using Netinstall to write the files on the CF card, they are written properly, I am inserting the CF card in the Alix 2d2 board, powering it up, I am connecting on the serial port using baud 9600 8N1 (no flow control), I can see it booting properly for the first time:

Loading initrd.rgz...........ready.
Then it waits for a couple of seconds (~5s), reboots and after the reboot it outputs the following:

Missing operating system
Using different RouterOS versions the error is either “Missing operating system” or “No boot device available, press Enter to continue.”.
Can someone please advise?
Kind regards,
Serban
