routeros-powerpc-7.2.npk missing in the upgrade channel ...

This one seems to get lost in the announce channel, so I created this separate post.

Trying to upgrade my test RB1100 to 7.2 …

routeros-powerpc-7.2.npk missing in the upgrade channel …

Anyone got this working ?

When did you try this last? We fixed it yesterday

Hi @normis

I checked about 5min ago (10:00 CEST) and stil get the same error …
RB1100 is looking for routeros-powerpc-7.2.npk
while there only seems to be a routeros-7.2-ppc.npk in the download section

I’m seeing the same thing on a RB1100ahx2

tried again at 14:00 CEST, stil the same error

You can always download manually and drop it in Files. Reboot and the upgrade will be done.
But this should be fixed, that’s for sure.

I agree that it should be fixed.
I will wait for that to prove the fix

tried today 15:00 CEST
problem still not solved …

Any updates on this?

I’m still seeing the same issue on my RB1100.

Thanks.

The naming between v6/v7 is changed, wanted or not

download manually
https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/7.2.1/routeros-7.2.1-ppc.npk

or by fetch

/tool fetch url="https://download.mikrotik.com/routeros/7.2.1/routeros-7.2.1-ppc.npk"

BUT I SUGGEST TO NOT UPGRADE powerpc to v7, search other topic and you see than some 1100 stop booting after update!!!

The problem is already know and under investigation/resolution

Apart from the stability issues …

Manual option was always an alternative.
The point made is that this needs to be solved in the tools which check for package updates.

My view:
It is not smart to perform a name change on a package which needs to be fetched with a predefined name by tools responsible for updates before that same tool has been modified to get the new name.
At least provide a symlink to the old name so everything keeps working !!

Yes… and not… transition from v6 to v7, wanted or accidentally, for me must be manual only…

In the mean time I did a manual upgrade by dropping the 7.x version in the files section and rebooting the 1100.
No problems whatsoever, everything works fine, firmware upgrade also without problems.

For other platforms it never has been manually.
Why here ?

Is my opinion…

On v7 is changed the filename from all platform:

from v6
download.mikrotik.com/routeros//routeros--.npk
is only the version number without text like “6.48.6” but not “6.48.6 long-term”
can be arm, arm64, mipsbe, mmips, smips, tile, powerpc, x86

to v7 architecture and version number are swapped
download.mikrotik.com/routeros//routeros--.npk
is only the version number without text like “7.2.1” but not “7.2.1 stable”
can be arm, arm64, mipsbe, mmips, smips, tile, ppc, NOT x86 because only without “-” specified is for x86

or by fetch

I confirm that RB1200 is loaded with this particular file, but nothing with network works, I hardly rolled back to 6
