Just for fun I have made a map of the RouterOS release history the last years. Every bar i one version.
Beta version are mostly released in the morning, RC and normal version some later in the day.

Nice.
IMO the upper chart (releases versus date) would be more readable if minor release versions followed logical sequence. E.g. to me logical sequence (top to bottom) would be 6.46beta → 6.46rc → 6.46 → 6.47beta → 6.47rc → 6.47 → … on the chart they seem to be sorted alphabetically.
And what time zone is used to plot time distribution of releases on the lower chart? And which time did you take, timestamp of announcement post on forum or some other time?
Do agree, but then I need to rename the version. Splunk do default sort by name, so 6.46 berfore 6.46beta before 6.46rc.
Timestamp is from forum announcement post
What’s new in 7.1.1 (2021-Dec-21 13:53)
Timezone should not matter since its what written in the post and not time of post in the forum.
Also did not find any 7.0 (rc/beta). No 7.2 beta, just skipped to RC??
It could also be interesting to graph day-of-week.
I get the impression that new stable releases are often released on friday afternoon local time.
“release and run away” ![]()
You could call release versions … well, release. As in: 6.47release … I’m not native english speaker, in my language e comes later than c, so 6.47release should come after 6.47rc.
There were many 7.0betas, followed by 7.1rcs and a bit later followed by those odd 7.0.x device-specific releases. And those 7.0betas started IIRC around two years ago. However, I too didn’t notice any 7.2betas.
Some googling revealed that 7.0beta8 existed at least on 5th of June 2020.
And post on this forum about 7.0beta1 posted on 2019-09-06. So it was more than two years between first 7.0beta and (sort of) stable 7.1.
No problem with that. Just a bit selfcontrol knowing that impatient ones, could get a bloody nose.
Updated post #1 with renaming 6.46 normal release to 6.46re to get it better sorted and med graph some thicker.
Found various 7.x beta (some did have date some not. For those without date, I used first post found as date)
Seems that you have some wrong
Here are the list for last 2 years:
For all type of release
Tuesday 18
Thursday 18
Friday 15
Monday 11
Wednesday 10
Sunday 1
For only main releases
Tuesday 9
Thursday 9
Wednesday 6
Monday 4
Friday 3
I do also see that MikroTik does not use a lot of RC version, ofte only just one, so 7.2 should be close to release.
Ok but it seems you have ordered them on compilation date, I was thinking more about the date when the release is made available and the announcement appears on the forum.
The version is usually a couple of days old by then, apparently they do some internal testing before (although people sometimes think they don’t).
It looks like in the v7 releases the rc name is used for what was “beta” in the v6 release. What we see over the rc1,rc2,rc3 versions is not finetuning to solve some bugs but just the usual development as seen in beta versions…
Why do I get the impression someone has a bit too much time available …
Still nice work ![]()
If I do find some more time
I will look at the post date.
Some version are announced before they are compiled like 7.1.1 here:
http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/v7-1-1-is-released/154314/1
If I do find some more time
I will look at the post date.

v7.1.1 is released!
No, that is a midjudgement. You see the posting time in your own local timezone, but the compilation time is in the Latvian timezone.
Latvia is GMT+2 and Europe is GMT+1 so when they post something at 14:32 about a version they compiled at 13:53 you will see the time 13:32 (or 1:32pm) in the posting and 13:53 in the version.
Ok
Some more time spend on unneeded stuff…
Found correct compile date and post date for nearly all version, except the first 7.0 betas.
For some reason posting of the 7.x betas and rc has been different from all other releases and was hard to find correct info.
My table now has both compile time and posted on forum time (all in gmt+2)
What day of week has the various image been announced on the forum. So Friday do not have more releases than other day.
Monday 15
Tuesday 19
Wednesday 19
Thursday 17
Friday 15
Average time from released to posted are 42.6 hour,s so nearly 2 days. Some has been posted just 22 minutes after release.
I did not find detailed info about 7.0 beta 1-4, and it seems that 7.0 was never released. But 7.0.3 for chateau seems to be posted some day after latest 7.0beta
All times are in gmt+2 (used time for released in post and then added 1 hour to post time, since I do use GMT+1)
If some are interested, I can post the raw table data.
