Setting Up VLANs with MikroTik RouterOS for Network Segmentation

Hey everyone, geometry dash

I recently started diving into MikroTik RouterOS and wanted to share my experience and seek some guidance on setting up VLANs for network segmentation.

I understand that VLANs are a great way to divide a network into separate logical segments, ensuring better security and traffic management. However, I’m still trying to wrap my head around the configuration process in MikroTik RouterOS.

I would appreciate it if anyone could walk me through the basics of setting up VLANs using MikroTik RouterOS. Specifically, I’m interested in:

Creating VLAN interfaces on my MikroTik router.
Assigning VLAN membership to physical ports.
Configuring VLAN trunking between routers or switches.
Setting up inter-VLAN routing and firewall rules.
If anyone has any tips, suggestions, or step-by-step guides on how to achieve these configurations efficiently, I would highly appreciate it! Any best practices or examples to help solidify my understanding would also be a great addition.

Looking forward to hearing from the MikroTik veterans in the community!

Thanks in advance!
