In simple queue, we can add to a SQ the queue type for download and for upload, for example we can add PCQ Down and PCQ UP for each one.
But I don’t understand what is the TOTAL QUEUE TYPE. If I set each in the corresponding PCQ down and UP, what will I set in the total queue type?
Thank you, and excuse if is it a stupid question…
AFAIK the Total tab on SQ is intended for situations wher you set an upload limit, a download limit, and additionaly you want to limit the sum of download + upload to a given value.
Say you have a link whose aggregated traffic bandwidth is 100Mbps, while the BW provided to you by the ISP is 100Mbps download / 20Mbps download.
If you max-llimit only by traffic direction you could end with 120Mbps of aggregated traffic in moments of saturation.
By setting total tab total-max-limit to 100Mbps, you are adding another restriction: the sum of download+upload max-limits must be 100Mbps.
No need to set anything for total tab in “normal” situations.
Ohhhhhhhhhh wow, so nice. Thank you a lot… INcredible my friend, thank you. I understand now.
However, I need to setup always something there, is a “mandatory” option in the winvox.
If I setup DEFAULT o DEFAULT-SMALL, doesn’t it matters?
I don’t have anything the the total limit, any value, just DEFAULT in the total queues… Is correct?
Thank you
If you don’t set any other values on the total tab it doesn’t matter, guess is just a Winbox built in validation check.
Queue types for upload/download are set on the Advanced tab.
Super. I know where setup it my friend.
Have a nice sunday my friend and thank you again
