Simple static IP

I have what should be a very simple problem and I can’t seem to find the solution. I am new to RB configurations, so please bare with me. I have a RB750UP and want to power it via POE and be able to supply power via POE to other devices. I have figured out these 2 parts, the one I’m stuck on is a simple static IP. I have followed the manual (about 10 times) and still can not get it to work. I disabled the DHCP Client, added my new address, 10.100.1.90/32 (ether1 and 2 on separate tries), set my LAN on my computer to 10.100.1.3 (also tried DHCP) and I cannot login to the router.

Am I missing something really simple? I have tried leaving the default IP in place and also tried deleting it. Either way, I lose communication.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

NO! Don’t use /32!!! That won’t work. You need to read about networking… a /32 address is a network SINGLE, ALL BY ITSELF. Change that to /24 on the router and on the computer use netmask 255.255.255.0)
