Slow traceroute

I have wireless network and from where I test, there are 5 hops to my breakout point.
If I do a tracert to eg. www.google.com, then the first 5 hops (my wireless network) all give <3ms mix/max/ave but it takes about 5 seconds to do each hop. Once it hits the Internet, responses give 250-500ms but they pop up one or two a second.

Why would the much faster wireless network give such slow traceroutes?

try traceroute -n

tracert on my Windows 7 does not like that option. It has -d which does not resolve host names, it traces much faster thanks.
But how can I then enable that on my routers so traces work ‘properly’?

you should define hostnames for your routers ip-s in dns.
